Ava Karas (she/her) is an NYC based performer. A Pittsburgh native, she received her BM in Music Theatre from Oklahoma City University, with a minor in Political Science. She is currently performing throughout Asia in the global tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Matt Lenz and choreographed by Alison Solomon. Other favorite credits include Grease, Miracle on 34th Street, Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Freaky Friday (Gretchen), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, for which she was nominated for a Broadway World Award for her portrayal of Veruca Salt. A former bunhead turned theatre nerd, Ava trained at Miami City Ballet School and Chauatauqua Dance Institute. In her spare time, Ava can be found writing, learning a new language on Duolingo (or Babbel when she's really committed), and searching for the perfect cup of hot chocolate (even in the summer).Â
